Surprising ways to use you tea towel
I started making flour sack tea towels because I wanted my art in people's kitchens. But somewhere along the way I realized these towels had a life well beyond the dish rack.
Here are three of my favorite ways to use mine that have nothing to do with drying dishes.
1. Wrap a bottle of wine

Fold a tea towel around a bottle of wine, tie it with a piece of twine, and you have a gift that people actually keep. The wrapping becomes part of the present. I've done this for hostess gifts, engagement gifts, and just-because moments. It takes two minutes and looks like you really thought about it.
2. Make cafe curtains

Two tea towels and a tension rod with clips will transform a kitchen window. You can find both at Walmart for less than $10. No sewing, no hardware, no fuss. Just clip the towels to the rod and hang it in the window. The light comes through beautifully and the botanical prints look like they were made for it. Because honestly, they were.
3. Hang it on the wall

A flour sack tea towel with botanical cyanotype art is basically a small piece of fiber art. Slip it into a magnetic poster hanger and hang it from a nail, and suddenly your kitchen or bathroom has something worth looking at. I've seen mine end up in studios, guest rooms, and entryways. Everywhere but the kitchen, honestly.
