Every fall in Salida, there's a week when the aspens turn gold and you can feel the first snow waiting just over the ridge. I made this piece in that in-between moment. The leaves are sun printed as a cyanotype, then layered with lavender washes, gold paint, and hand-drawn gold linework, with a scatter of gold flecks drifting across the deep blue like the last light of the season.
8x10" framed to 13x15" in a wide, gold frame
Original cyanotype embellished with watercolor and gold linework.
